Brett, David, and Ethan Offseason Update
Ron Johnson sent me the following updates. Looks like Brett, David, and Ethan have been busy this offseason. Here is a quick roundup of their activities.
Bett Synder: Brett has been working out with us, the Lock Haven Club, the Bucknell Club, and will start going to Line Mountain workouts from time to time. He wrestled the Dallastown Duals and wrestled on our team at the NHSCA Duals where I saw probably the best match I’ve ever seen him wrestle against a NJ state qualifier that dropped from 171 for the duals. Brett also went undefeated at the Lycoming Team Camp and beat a defending Ohio State Champ who was well schooled on how to beat Brett.
David Snook: David has been on fire the entire offseason. Aside from workouts with us, Bucknell, Lock Haven and soon Line Mountain he has wrestled 8 tournaments in 4 different states. He wrestled tournaments at MAWA Districts and Regionals, State College, Lewistown, NHSCA Nationals, Ohio Tournament of Champions, the Doylestown Duals and with us at the NHSCA Duals. David also went undefeated at the Bucknell Team Camp where he defeated returning state placewinner Marlatt from Northern Lehigh.
Ethan Midkiff: Ethan has been a real inspiration to all of us with his level of discipline, mental toughness and maturity that far exceeds his number of years. He has been working out with us, Lock Haven, and will be going to Line Mountain as well. He wrestled MAWA Districts, Regionals and qualified for Eastern Nationals. He also wrestled at the State College and Lewistown tournaments and wrestled for our team at the NHSCA Duals where Ethan’s real character showed up. The week of the duals Ethan injured his knee playing soccer but still gutted out 5 outstanding matches, despite the pain against all returning state qualifiers and state placewinners who all weighed over 120 versus Ethan’s 115.
